Unexpected Outcome

The Blossom Season Iv By Anonymous

I was trying to check what other topics are available at Helium, and I find this topic to be quite interesting. So I begin to write about it. This is what I write About:

Assessing Our Responsibility To Preserve The Environment

The world is made up of living organisms and all of us, human beings, together with the animals, and the plants around us interact directly and indirectly to form a balance ecosystems in this world.

Through advance technology, the needs of human beings, and the nature of human being(seeking fame and power) the world's ecosystem is at a risk. Just a few days ago, I read about the news who says that the marine life is in danger. If more and more fish, squids and some other marine animals were captured, the marine life will be greatly threatened and by 2046 there might not be any marine life at all. This sound incredible but sound possible. I will elaborate on what I mean by my first statement.

Biologically, in nature the there are many cycles exist. All things are come from a source and to be returned back to complete a cycle. For example, we have the water cycle, carbon cycle, weather cycle and so on. The life cycle of animals is from eggs to larva/young adult(depending on what animals) to adult stage and then the adults lay eggs and the cycle begins again. Plants get eaten up by herbivores and herbivores get eaten by carnivores.

This means that in nature, a series of food chain exist and all these food chains when you look at it and put it together it is made up of a complex food web. When one of the animals is affected, or plants affected, a certain part of the food chain is affected. This will then ultimately cause the whole food web to be disrupted.

Due to inflation and also because of human seeking for fame and power, people want to get rich, they want to earn more money, and every single thing that they do will indirectly disrupt our ecosystem. Take for example in our daily lives, let's talk about our food, egg, fish, vegetables, and some people even eat animals like bat, snake, monkey brains, turtle, bird nest, ostrich, deer, sharks fin and so on. As there was a demand, people seek this opportunity, and they hunt for this animals to sell for a lump sum of money. Some people even poached for animals like tigers, elephants, to get their body parts like fur, tusks to be sold.

Due to the consumption rate of these animals being higher than the birth rate, some animals are facing endanger crisis. This means that if the problem is going to continue, then the particular species of animals will not be able to be found on this world any more. They will be extinct like the dinosaurs.

Another instance is eggs. As eggs are so popular, the farmers are getting ways to increase the population of chickens, only thinking of 'earning more and more money', feeding the chicken 'better' food so as to earn more money, so as to compete with their competitors(selling better eggs with lower cholesterol) and thereby have a better sale. However, they never know that their ignorance for their environment will cause what sort of serious consequences. If they were to take precaution, have a routine cleanliness system, to tidy their place, better sewage, I think there won't be a bird flu outbreak in these places. When disease outbreak happens, not only are chickens affected, humans and the pigs in turn in the nearby areas also affected.

A lot of things happened all because of lack of education and also human beings want to earn money and the lack of moral education. From young, I think that children should be taught the importance of our environment, science, as in how our environment work, the cause and effect of human actions, and that one cannot do just anything for the sake of money.

Take another instance, the use of disposible chopsticks. More and more trees are being chopped down and a lot of deforestation are taking place. The world is already so hot, without all these trees, our temperature are rising. Trees are habitats/home of many animals. What happen if your home is gone? Where will these animals go?

Not only is food, our daily necessity, even our air is also a issue. Some people burns their farm, burn the forest, causing a lot of smoke and haze in their neighbouring countries. These also cause animals and people's health at risk.

From young everyone should be taught that each and everyone of us living on this planet is responsible for this world. Everyone have to cooperate. Not just Singapore or United States or China alone. But each and every country should do the same. Only when ALL people do the same things, have the same goal would the environment be saved.

All these means to say that a lot of people are not responsible for what they do. They might do what they did out of ignorance or for survival(earn money for the family). If the latter is the case, they got no choice, but the country need to do something for such people, they need to help needy people. Though education is a must for the current generation of people and for the future generation so as to create awareness about the importance of our environment, if without the ability to impart the fact that even in just a small area of the country can affect a large part of the earth, our 'home' will soon be perished.

So who is responsible for our earth? Who has done the most actions, the most things to cause a disruption of the ecosystems? Who has captured the endangered animals species, cut down forest trees, reclamation, contribute more urbanization, caused more forest fire? It's all the people on earth. People are slowly destroying their own environment.

To preserve our environment is everyone's duty. It all starts with a good education and knowledge.

Surprisingly I was ranked no. 1 for this post. I am so happy about it. Check this out at Helium.
