What I Eat

Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are. ~ Anthelme Brillat-Savarin
I never care about what I eat. I only eat what I like. For about 3 weeks, I was sick and not able to enjoy eating. The food which I enjoy eating is seafood, especially shrimp, crabs and seashells -- cockles and mussels. I love certain kind of fish but not all fish. What else do I eat? I eat vegetables, any type of vegetables I like. Lastly, I eat chicken and eggs. I do not like to eat pork, beef, mutton, and other kinds of meat.
Last week after the blood test, I was told that my cholesterol was high. The nurse advice me on cutting down on seafood, eating less oily food, etc etc. There are good cholesterol and bad cholesterol. To further test my blood results, she asked me to go back for another blood test, but I am not interested. So what if my cholesterol is high or low? Can't eat what you like, can't do what you want, etc etc, what is it that you are worth living then?
Are seafood really harmful to us? Eatshrimp.com has answers for all seafood lovers. It is a comprehensive site containing recipes, articles and more. This is what I found out : Consumers are concerned about the cholesterol content of foods such as meat, eggs, and dairy products. In the case of shrimp, however, the cholesterol story is different. Research has shown that the high percentage of "good fats" in shrimp reduces the impact of cholesterol. Most people can eat shrimp as part of a balanced diet.
The American Heart Association recommends consuming no more than 300 mg of cholesterol per day. In addition, it is recommended that women consume no more than 50-60 grams of total fat per day with no more than 20 grams of fat coming from saturated fat sources.
Men are advised to consume no more than 60-70 grams of total fat per day with no more than 24 grams of fat coming from saturated sources.
Whatever it is, I live to eat and I eat to live too. I could not care less. This is a little 'poem' I compose about my favourite shrimp. I am bad at writing poem, please pardon me.
Seafood, shellfish, shrimp are all my love, they are naturally sweet,
Healthy are those who eat shellfish, fish and shrimp.
Rich in "good fats" and reduces the impact of cholesterol
I never get tired of eating Shrimp.
More seafood, more seashells, more shrimps, the more I enjoy my meals
Pleasure and enjoyment is what I can say about eating Shrimp!
There are various methods of cooking shrimp. Depending on my appetite and craving, sometimes I just boil it, steam it, deep-fried it, or cook it with vegetables. Sometimes I look up cooking book for Shrimp Recipes and other seafood recipes.

My favourite food is Shark's fin and lobster. I don't eat these often. They are expensive. But lobsters and shrimp belongs to the same family, no lobster, eat shrimp. No lobster, drink lobster bisque. I love to drink lobster bisque. Though I like shrimp, one thing I don't like about shrimp is peeling off the shell. But do you know that the most fragrant part of the shrimp is the head?
