Profuse Rectal Bleeding

Since Sunday, my father had been having rectal bleeding. It all started on early in the Monday morning when everyone was still sleeping. My mother had told me yesterday. He had rectal bleeding three times on Monday, throughout the morning, till my mother was ready to go out for work. According to my mother, those were fresh red blood, and there were clots too.
We wonder whether it is any kind of colorectal cancer. He had past medical history of piles and rectal bleeding too. However, he had never gone for any scanning before. This morning he had rectal bleeding again. My mother and I advised him to go see a doctor but he does not want to waste money. He said everybody will die eventually, there is no need to waste extra money on doctor.
This is what the poor family lives their life. He always self-medicate. He never visit the doctor. Now the problem is getting worse. People with 'extra money' to spare can afford to have longer life span. They eat good food, take health supplements, they can prolong their youth with botox, cosmetic surgery, and they can go for health screening. The poor cannot afford to spend money on health. Scanning allows you to detect cancer at an early stage and you have a higher chances of survival. But after scanning, you need to be prepared to fork out another sum of money for any removal of polyps or other tumors that might be found in the colon. A colonoscopy alone costs about at least $300. Prior to colonoscopy, you need to go for at least twice doctor consultation, the first time 'interview' and the subsequent diagnosis and so on. Consultation is not cheap if there is no referral letter. Even with referral letter, the cost of one time doctor's consultation would have cost about $40, excluding transportation still. Everything is money and without money you cannot do anything. What is health to poor people? If the people is so kind, if any doctor is so kind, why don't they offer free colonoscopy to old people and not even say to subsidise it. Even if it is free, for old people, by the time they had done colonoscopy, their colon cancer might be at an advanced stage already.
Colonoscopy is growing fast and it is happening even in youngster. For all you know, my father have been surviving with millions of polyps in his colon. I might even have what he has. Early detection? We know our own body best, and we know our own finances. Can we afford to bear the consequences? Early detection is just an experiment to find out what's wrong with your body. With that you could probably have a more peace of mind, perhaps you know that you have colon cancer and you can be 'prepared' for it. But for people who have no money, what can we do? You got to think of the 'what if's. What if you have colon cancer? Then you need to arrange for possible dates for removal of the cancerous polyps in your colon or even chemotherapy and so on. Hospital stay, surgeon fees, anesthetist fees, and other medical charges on add up to be a lot. What if you spend some money and you managed to remove all the polyps and you were declared no more cancer. After your surgery, you need to think of survival. A huge sum of money spent, probably more debts going to incur because of the operation. In 5 years time, you get relapse, and there you go, wasting all the money and you are bringing more 'burden' to people around you. I am talking about myself, if I am suspected of Colon Cancer, which I think is very probable. I have a relative who died of colon cancer already. Perhaps in 5 - 10 years time is my turn. If I am able to live that long. Conquering Colorectal Cancer? That is not for the poor people. If there is colon cancer, that is fate. There is no need to prolong life. While I am living now, I had to do what I can for my children.
