Happy National Day

Today is Singapore National Day. I want to wish everybody a Happy Holiday. This year our Singapore National Day falls on Thursday and this is very good -- For parents with school children, we can have four and a half days of rest. That is what I like most about this year's National Holiday. Otherwise I won't be bother about whatever birthday.
As Singaporeans, it is good to know our origin, the History of Singapore. It would be a shame if we do not even know anything about Singapore if tourists were to ask about anything about Singapore. I do not like History. I had learned about History of Singapore, but I cannot remember much, because my heart is not towards History. My heart has room for more things which interest me than history and geography. I was writing about the importance of heart at my blog, Health Motivator yesterday. If you want to know more about the heart, then visit my blog at PeaceMotivate.com. I had used the heart as my icon for PeaceMotivate.com.
If you ask me to read books on History of Singapore, I would doze off, my mind would wander off if I see words and more words. However, if I see pictorial depiction of Singapore History, that is a different story. I would be interested to look at it. I must commend QiHua Primary School for their Pictorial Depiction of Singapore History on their three walls of their National Education Gallery corner. For people who have no interest in World History, this would at least spur some interest in us and I actually know the year and some important incidents that should be remembered by us.

1819 the founding of Singapore by Sir Stamford Raffles

1945 Japanese Occupation Period

1965 Singapore Independence
