Christmas Day Gathering
These are two Christmas presents the children had chosen during Christmas Day. They were wrapped beautifully and were very heavy. The children had chosen three other Christmas presents. I had not taken photographs of the three other presents. I were too sick to take the pictures that night.
Yesterday my sister called me to ask me about my gifts. She wondered what gifts I had. I had not much 'hope' for the Christmas Presents at all. Every year, the 'Christmas Party' is always the same. There were eating, children played themselves, and the adults 'free roaming'. There would always be Mahjong session. The guests have no programs. I did not bring along my books to read, otherwise I would have better time there.
My sister said I got a good deal. Good deal or no good deal, my reason for attending the Christmas Gathering was to have fun, meet up with all the family members, and not about getting any good gifts. As always the case, there will not be any good gifts every year. All our 'Christmas' Gifts are normally 'clearance of home stuff' or 'donation of unwanted items' at home. However, whichever it is, that was not a bad idea. Certain things which the family do not need, they wrapped up and give as Christmas presents. Other family might need them.
I love the glasses, they were beautiful.
Clara loves the glasses. She used them for drinking and the dishes were very useful. We used them for putting snacks.
These two sets of Christmas Gifts are good after washing. They were wrapped beautifully, but inside was rather old and obviously very smelly. Touch them and you must wash your hands. Two sets of glasses were all smelly and dirty. But they were good, something which can be used again after washing. If you want to really compare the values of the gifts, this is really a good deal. If I really want to think it this way, I would feel very bad. But I have a clear conscience. This is not how I regard everything. I do not hope to get a great deal out of everything. The enjoyment and family reunion is the only reason I want. The only regret was my big brother, he did not get to attend this gathering again.
The most funny part was everybody everybody must be 'scared' of my 'Mei Zhen Xiang Fake Bak Gua' 美真香肉干(barbeque meat). My Christmas Gifts are the ugliest of all and the cheapest of all. However, they were 'freshly made' with our time and effort. They were hand-made and with love from me, Ricsson and Clara.
Afterall, it was a good time, I get to meet up with my sister, my brother, my niece and nephew and my mother and uncle, and not forgetting my sisters-in-law. The children get to play together. That strengthen family ties and the children got to know each other better. They played games like Cheats and had fun chatting. That is definitely something good. I get to take photographs with my sister too. However, one thing for sure, next year, I must tell them not to exchange anymore Christmas Presents.
