Kindred Heart

Ricsson was not feeling well on Friday morning (18.4.09). We went to the family neighbourhood clinic at Blk 818 Woodlands.

On Friday morning, about 630am, Ricsson woke up with painful head and throat. He cried and I was so frightened too. He was so painful, could not talk and even drink water. He did not go to school on that day then.

While waiting for the clinic to be opened(8.30am), I boiled herbal tea and gave him panadol first.

At the clinic, there were some people there. I registered for him, and I thought that we were perhaps the fourth or fifth in the queue, but little did I know that we had to wait for more than an hour or so. I saw some people coming after us, but they went in first. That was a few of them. In the end, I went to ask the clinic assistance and as usual the case, we could go in next. If we did not ask, does it mean that we had to wait longer?

There were no queue number issued. This is not the first time we went there. In fact, I always sent my children there since it is near my house, and his service is not that bad. However, that particular morning, it was rather unfair in that sense. I was not angry that day, and the doctor apologised, but the reason why I wrote about this is because there is a lesson to be learned in everything that happened...
